my liver is happy it’s february…

it has begun.  the annual "nothing happens in february so i'm gonna stay in and catch up on movies and video games" liver cleanse.  i figure for all the pain i put my lil buddy through for 11 months, he deserves the time between the superbowl and st. patty's day off.

and it began a little early this year, had plans to go to a chocolate and dessert wine tasting with some friends on thursday, but the snow (or i should say ice) put a damper on those plans.  even though i'd already shelled out the cash i figured not having to walk for blocks on snow turned to ice was worth significantly more to me than the $50 I ate by not going.  it became even more of a no brainer after i realized how great a time i had doing nothing.  here is what i did on thursday:

12:30 am:  got home
1:00 am began clearing snow
3:00 am finished, started posting pics
3:30 am went downstairs watched gary unmarried and fell asleep during law & order uk
7:00 am woke up, went to bed
2:30 pm woke up, dicked around on pc, went downstairs finished watching l&o uk, fell asleep
5:30 pm woke up, dicked around on pc, went to bed
10:30 pm woke up, went downstairs, began my studio 60 on the sunset strip marathon
4:30 am went to bed

if you haven't guessed, i am currently single.

i continued my great weekend thusly:

1:30 pm woke up, dicked around on pc, went downstairs and began the remainder of studio 60 marathon
1:30 pm-4:30 am watched studio 60 with brief interruptions to play on pc or take a leak
5:00 am went to bed

yes, i had the greatest weekend ever.  and my liver loves me!

in fact, as a reward for being so good to my liver, the world had granted me these gifts which will be instrumental in making me need my annual liver cleanse next year:

found out less than jake will be playing in vegas the weekend we are there for mike's bachelor party.
found out the spring heeled jack reunion show will be the friday of my birthday weekend (05.07.10)
realized that since the wine tasting was so good, the beer tasting and the scotch & cigar tastings we have scheduled with the same folks should be on par if not better
realized i still have 3/4 of a bottle of johnnie walker blue and a full bottle of gold

the only thing bad about this weekend is i got no work done on my computer.  i had meant to finally install a water cooler for my cpu and the blu ray drive i bought so i can back up my movies.  i failed miserably in both of these endeavors.  oh well.

  1. AND the most awesome thing about giving your liver a months off is by NEXT month you will have to spend less to get drunk. Well sometimes that’s how it works out. I personally have tried to make it a month for that little cleanse. BUT unfortunately as you can imagine the stress of day to day living with work and everything i consider it a social service to have a cold one every other weekend or so. JUST to avoid the bloodshed of other human beings by my bare, non drinking, on a liver cleanse, hands. BUT that’s not a confession or anything so dont freak out. :)

  2. My liver and I are tight. He gets breaks… and in return, he keeps me from killing myself on those nights that my buddies repeatedly say to me, “Here Mike. Drink this one too.”

  3. @ crystal the month of not drinking saves me cash but once i’m back, i’m back. sadly, there’s no cheap night of drinking for me. i do appreciate you performing a social service though, it’s people like us that contribute to the betterment of society.
@ mike i wonder if our livers have meeting too. keeping us alive on those wonderful nights and all.

  4. “if you haven’t guessed, i am currently single.”
Laughed out loud at that one… Good stuff.

  5. i don’t think i’ve seen anyone type “laughed out loud” in a decade. cheers mate.
