i like to drink. drinking is delicious. it's also great great for stimulating the mind and helping you come up with ideas you never dreamed possible. sometimes this is good, sometimes this is bad. had a few drunken ideas the last couple of weeks lets go through em and decide if they were good or bad and if they might possibly happen…
tots! this is a recurring drunk idea. my friend and i are convinced a restaurant that serves only tater tots would be incredibly successful. sure, there'd be regular tots, but then there'd be stuffed tots as well. we're talking jalapeno cheddar tots, bacon and cheese tots, even cinnamon sugar tots for dessert. it'd be a small place, making tots fresh all day with some seats in the back, but it'd be our small place.
potential? yeah. i think if we actually went ahead and did this, it would rock.
pissing off a pretty girl. couple of weeks ago, i thought it would be a good idea to act like a jealous fool and call a girl who doesn't like being put on the spot out on many stupid things in front of people she didn't wish to be called out in front of.
results? definitely a bad idea. this is one of those things where drunk you thinks you're having fun but you're really just making someone miserable. worse it's someone you like. even worse, you should have known better. will some good time spent apologizing and ass kissing fix it? maybe, but why dig the hole to begin with? definitely a bad idea.
road trip to new orleans. came up with this one the other night. see, the jets and giants are both playing the saints down in the big easy this year. seeing that most of my friends are jets fans and the giants have never won a road game i've been to (never lost a home game) i'd be inclined to go with the jets fans.
the idea, rent a winnebago and drive down a few days before the game. stop in some southern city along the way and pick up a few hookers. let hilarity ensue.
prospects? well, the trip to new orleans is a good one. the road trip, not so much, i don't think. the hookers, definitely not. but like i said, we were drunk. it started as a trip and started expanding from there. may happen, may not. we'll see who's game.
roast a whole pig at u2 tailgate. this one is not my idea. in fact i think it may even be a sober idea of a friend. u2 is playing giants stadium in september. it's a thursday/friday too and brian was kind enough to pick up some tickets such that i might attend both shows. w00t.
so the pig. serge decided he wants to roast a whole pig before both nights. apparently he knows how to procure a while pig and he's willing to show up at 9 am to get the ball rolling. a ballsy statement indeed.
prospects? well, i don't see this happening. maybe one night (i mean, seriously, do you need to roast two whole pigs?) but both nights i think is a no go, especially because unlike serge (who can pretty much set his own schedule) and myself (off thursday/friday), most other people will be working all day thursday and won't be able to get to jersey for a tailgate.
friday? that's a different story. pretty sure everyone we know is going took the day and hopefully there's sun to go with out lil piggy and booze. it'll definitely be a sight to see, roasting off a pig in a parking lot. other than bacon, i don't even like pork, but i'm totally down to enjoy this feast.

Tots, eh? I like it.
Actually, I’ve had a craving for Tater Tots for a long time. I finally broke down and bought some yesterday and had them for dinner. They were as good as I remembered.
Of course, in this area of Canada at least, they’re not called Tater Tots. They’re called Tasti Taters (they used to be Tater Gems, but they apparently changed the name without informing me a while back). They used to have flavoured ones around here, too (cheese flavour and Cajun flavour). I’ve always called them Tater Tots, though. I also find it strange that TacoTime (do you have TacoTime over in the Eastern States?) calls them MexiFries, since I’ve never heard of Mexicans eating Tater Tots.
I like the idea of the multiple flavours. It reminds me of those pretzels shops where you can choose your topping and watch it being made. There’s a lot that you can do with this idea.
Anyhow, I hadn’t stopped by in a few days and got an urge to check the site as I was watching the Mets game today. I caught part of the 4th inning and then the top of the 6th before I got too depressed and had to turn it off. If that’s an indication of how the Mets play when I’m watching, I’ll have to avoid their games from now on (unless they’re playing the Cubs, of course).
tots indeed sir. i really do dig the idea, though now is not the time to try to open a silly and completely niche dining establishment.
never seen a taco time, ever. we’ve taco bells here (mmm taco bell) and there’s del tacos out west (but if you’re out west and not eating hole in the wall mexican, you’re nuts).
and yes, the mets are that depressing. caught a mets/padres game at petco when i was out in san diego last week and the only sportscenter highlights from the game were a home run and the friars race. yeah the game sucked that much.
they do play the cubs in chicago at the end of the month and at shiti field over labor day weekend.
