so i heard iron man was really good.
that made me want to go see it.
is it me, or did it seem like half a movie?
is it sad that the best part of the movie to me was the SHIELD agent guy? he played the guy at the bar who bought the network sports night was on on that show “sports night.” he plays the guy who doesn’t give you information very well.
so yeah, if you don’t mind the feeling of “that’s all?” at the end of your movie definitely check it out. If you hated the matrix 2 because it threw a bunch of bs at you and then made you drop another 12 buck to find out what the fuck went on, skip it.

Anybody who can’t make money off Sports Night should get out of the money-making business.
Anyway, I dug Iron Man.
Oh yeah…I wear women’s clothes.
First, I really liked Iron Man but I love Robert Downey, Jr. so there’s that. Things are slow here today so I am reading through some old post (hope you are more flattered than weirded out by that) and I have a question, hope you will enlighten me. What do all the football stats mean? I like watching sports but don’t really care about the scores. I guess because I don’t really care about it I also have this ability to pick the winners more times than not anyway, drives my friends crazy. Also, I don’t get the Matrix. I mean I have sat through all three movies and I just don’t get it, maybe I’m just a stupid girl but I’d like to think I’m just not nerd enough to get it. Anyway, I’d rather see Iron Man 2 than sit through the Matrix again any day.
@ ml a year and a half late, but a great quote. sadly abc could not make money off of sports night though the entire series on dvd did make some cash in the end.
@ rose flattered of course, but a lil weirded out. mostly by the date and the fact that after reading the post i remembered exactly where i was at the time of writing it (on the 7 train going home between 46th and 52nd street stations).
not certain what you mean by stats. they’re really just a number that represents things you can count. in general they show how effective or ineffective a player is. they only matter as much as the person looking at them cares to allow them to matter.
also most girls can pick winners more than guys. it’s because girls generally don’t give a damn about sports or at the very least the indicators that most guys totally rely on.
i think the colts will win the superbowl. a small part of this is because of peyton manning and his tremendous season this year. (33 TDs, 4500 yds passing and a 99.9 qb rating). a girl i was talking to the other night thinks the colts will win because peyton manning has a nice butt and is really funny in all the commercials he’s in.
a prime example of girls picking winners and pissing guys off is the ncaa tourney every march. most guys will analyze everything they know about college sports and rely on years of info they’ve seen or experienced. girls will pick teams because they knew someone who went to that school, because their husband’s ex got rejected from a school, because the mascot is cute, or because the schools abbreviation is funny (IUPUI). i’d say more than 50% of office pools are won by girls who’d never seen a college basketball game. it’s nuts.
matrix. hmm. been ages since i saw it. the original was just an awesome movie. story wise and effect wise. i guarantee it was an inspiration for lost in some way shape or form. matrix 2 sucked. it was basically a bridge to get to the matrix 3 which was decent story line wise but all in all didn’t live up to the original. there’s nothing to really get, so you’re not a stupid girl.
iron man 2. should be good. hope it is. but personally i’m looking at it as less iron man 2 and more “the rest of iron man 1.”
